    1831 ARGENTINA 5/10 REAL
    Buenos Aires, a city and province in eastern Argentina, was the first province to have coins made outside the country. Governor Martin Rodriguez initiated negotiations with Boulton & Watt (Soho Mint) in 1821. The Banco Nacional was dissolved in 1836 and the Casa De Moneda took its place. Copper, 24 mm, 5/10 real. Legend and date within wreath, BUENOS AIRES 1831. Fraction within shaded circle. Mintage unknown.
