Large-format fold-out 1963 Atlantic road map of Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, printed more than 56 years ago.
The map opens to 36" x 23" and has great detail on old highway alignments and route numbers, with cartography by Rand McNally.
There are inset plans of Charleston, Charlotte, Columbia, Raleigh, Winston-Salem, Wilmington, Wheeling, Petersburgh, Richmond, Lynchburg, Roanoke, Norfolk-Portsmouth, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C.
This map was published by the Atlantic Refining Company in 1963. It is dated by the code number in the lower margin: 3-463874-24.
The artwork on the front cover shows a uniformed attendant standing next to an Atlantic Imperial gas pump.
Condition:
It is in very good condition, bright, crisp, and clean, with
no
rips or tears. A previous owner has a few numbers in the margin; there are no other marks or writing. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions.
