I’m thrilled by the way this effect has held up against the test of time. If anything, the years have given me conviction about the strength and validity of the illusion that has infused my performance with an attitude that conveys total confidence in the illusion.
This was one of the effects I created for my Gold Medal FISM act many years ago. Professionals use this as one of their prime effects because it can work in such a wide range of arenas. I’ve seen restaurant magicians perform this for 1 or 2 people at a table, and I frequently use big, open body language to perform this effect for 100 or more at a time. It works for elementary age children as well as seniors, and the closer they look, the better the effect plays! That’s incredible millage out of something that can fit in your pocket!

A different take on the Ball and Vase!  Similar idea, but works on a DIFFERENT PRINCIPLE- there are NO SHELLS!
The routine is simple- the red wood marble is placed into the vase.  Give it a shake and lift the top of the vase- the marble is GONE!  Put the top on the vase again, remove it- and the marble has reappeared.  Just like magic!
If you are familiar with the classic Ball Vase effect, you know that there is a shell, a half-ball, involved.  Not with this one!  You are always handling and always showing a whole ball.
This vase is made of polished gold color metal.  The ball is made of painted wood.
