Mephisto Magic FRIED EGG TRAY Comedy Magic Surprise Routine
This trick is currently sold new on the Mephisto website for 77 Euros (approximately US). Includes tray mechanism (and pieces to set up the tray), plastic tube, egg cup, 2 plastic eggs, fried eggs, and instructions in English, French, and Dutch. This trick is used and could use a little freshening up, but the tray mechanism works great and is similar to a clatter box.  The fried egg(s) are a bit dirty and could be replaced with a newer fried egg (an easily found gag item. And to be honest I think it would be more effective with one yolk.) And the contact paper on the tray the egg sits on is bubbling up but I believe that could be replaced as well. (See photo of fried egg and make note of the air bubbles in the tray.) Even if you don't replace the contact paper I don't believe this diminishes the effect in any way since the fried egg isn't revealed until the very end.
Effect:
For this effect you bring a spectator out of the audience to hold a tray which has an egg in an egg cup on it.  You ask the spectator to be very careful with the tray and tell them you are going to vanish the egg and then make it reappear. The vanish part goes ok, but the magician keeps "loosing" the egg after the vanish.  The first time after the vanish, it ends up on the spectators back.  The second time, it ends up hanging underneath the tray. The third time it works - the egg vanishes then reappears in the egg cup.  For the finale you have the spectator hand you the egg and egg cup and that's when the tray falls apart on them and reveals the fried egg. It's a surprising finale and can be played for laughs. Please note with the exception of the clatter box finale, this is not a mechanical trick and the magician is required to vanish the egg using their favorite method.
I'm selling this trick with no reserve. Mostly because it was used (well loved) and whoever receives it might want to do a little work to freshen it up for their show. (Get a new fried egg and replace the contact paper.) Even if you don't update it, I think this would still be a nice addition to a comedy magic act or a magic clown routine. Happy bidding!
