There are no defects that I know of.
I received this as a gift and did not use it very often. It would be better suited for someone into gaming, which I am not.
It comes with the headset, the 2 hand controllers and 2 cables to hook up to a PC.  You will need to make sure the specs on your computer, especially the graphics card, can support this system. I copied the specs below.
