I really like these a lot.  It is a version of the Just Chance (or Bank Nite) effect, which is always good entertainment.  As long as the magician is careful not to play it as "I win, You Lose".   And as long as the method allows for very fair choices by the spectators, without a lot of suspicious looking props.
Well, by using these three handy folders (whose tricky design and use was conceived by Ian Adair), the props look very ordinary, and the selection process is ultra-fair.  (I leave it to you to avoid the "I win, you Lose" context in your presentation).
Three vinyl folders (each is about 3 inches by 5 inches) are shown -- they are three different colors.   A small binder clip holds each folder closed.  Two spectators get to each choose one of the colored folders.  This leaves just one for the magician.   After giving each spectator a chance to switch for the magician's folder, when everyone is happy with the choices, the spectator's folders are opened to show that it holds a note, like "Have a Great Day" or "World's Greatest Magic Spectator".    The magician's folder is opened to reveal it holds a bill.    (NOT included, but you knew that!)
The end messages and payoff are completely up to you.   If you knew it was someone's birthday, there could be two notes that say "You're not getting older, you are getting better!"   But when the birthday person's folder is opened, the note says "You ARE getting older.  Happy Birthday!"  (or something like that).
My favorite routine with these great little folders is based on Martin Lewis' Technicolor Prediction.   If you know that routine, you will quickly see how these folders are perfect for it.  (If you don't know that routine, don't worry -- because anyone who buys this item from TMGS will also get an extra supplemental instruction sheet, with that routine and a few extra handling tips.)
You can also use these to switch flat items, playing cards, bills, etc -- imagine anything you can do with a himber wallet, you can probably do one of these.
Last thing I will tell you:  no, the spectators cannot open their folder themselves.  You do need to open it for them.  However, the handling is so simple and natural and clean, there is really no suspicion.  (Especially when using one of the extra handling tips I provide in the supplemental instructions).
